Welcome
I want to extend to you my personal greetings and a very warm welcome to my periodontal, implant, adult orthodontics & orofacial pain practice.
Patients often describe our office as "friendly and professional" and I can assure you that my staff and I are committed to making your visit to our office as pleasant and as comfortable as possible. Our goal is to provide you with excellent periodontal, dental implant, adult orthodontic, and orofacial pain treatment in a supportive and caring environment.
Your initial consultation appointment is confirmed on Icy. The fee for this service is $95.00. If a full series of x-rays is indicated, the fee for this service will be an additional $125.00.
Prior to your appointment, I want to share some important information with you regarding my specialties of periodontics, dental implants, adult orthodontics and orofacial pain treatment and briefly explain the range of services available in my office:
At the time of your first appointment, I will listen closely to your concerns and conduct a thorough examination. I will subsequently review my findings with you in detail, make treatment recommendations, and answer all your questions. My firm belief is that when patients understand their options, they are better able to make an informed decision about their health.
The comprehensive periodontal examination will include an assessment of the gums and bone support of your teeth. Periodontal disease is a progressive condition caused by bacteria, and is the most prevalent disease among adults in this country. If left untreated, periodontal disease leads to the loss of teeth and supporting bone. In addition, there is a growing body of scientific evidence that suggests a link between periodontal disease and other systemic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and premature births. With professional care, however, periodontal disease can be controlled.
In addition to providing treatment for periodontal disease, we also provide for the replacement of missing teeth with the placement of dental implants. Following implant placement, the patient's family dentist creates and connects the prosthetic tooth (crown). We use state-of-the-art dental implants that are extremely comfortable, predictable, and very natural looking.
As an orthodontist, I also treat patients using braces to properly align their teeth and improve their bite. Adult orthodontics improves appearance, facilitates hygiene and places teeth in position for better function.
Some patients experience discomfort known as orofacial pain. This type of discomfort may be caused by many factors, including temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD). Many patients are referred to my practice for evaluation and treatment of orofacial pain.
I will communicate with your dentist following your initial consultation appointment. My staff and I continually emphasize the importance of your maintaining contact with your dentist during and after your treatment in my office. By closely coordinating your care with your dentist, we are able to provide you with the benefit of our combined expertise.
Once again, welcome to my practice.
Sincerely,
Barry S. Kayne, D.D.S.
